The story of a historic landmark in Istanbul, Beyoglu – written by me and drawn by Cem Dinlenmis for the spring 2020 graphic nonfiction issue of World Literature Today. Today, the building is sadly unrecognizable after a harsh restoration – and has a Starbucks in its beloved courtyard which was filled with trees and cats. Includes a comic-interview with the superintendent of the building, who had worked there for over 45 years and was kicked out during the restoration.
